Ebenezer was born on July 9, 1712 in Farmington, Connecticut. His parents, John Burr & Sarah Nichols, had settled in Farmington just before his birth. On January 10, 1740 he married Hepzibah Brown in Wintonbury, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Cornelius Brown & Abigail Barber. Ebenezer & Hepzibah had seven children, all born in Wintonbury. Some time after 1750, Ebenezer & Hepzibah removed to Norfolk, Connecticut, where they were some of the earliest settlers. He became a prominent man in Norfolk, and was for some years the Town Treasurer. Hepsibah died in 1772 and Ebenezer later married a woman named Reliance. His second wife died in 1778. Ebenezer died on March 12, 1794 in Norfolk. He is buried in Center Cemetery in Norfolk. His tombstone covers his grave and the graves of his two wives.
