Tom was the son of Joseph Warren Daly and Minnie Reading. Joe was 50 years old and Minnie was 17 years old when Tom was born. Tom never knew his biological mom as she supposedly passed away when Tom was a toddler. Through family DNA testing, I have recently found his mom's Reading family members. Tom's father then died when Tom was only 15, leaving him with no family. Tom married Carrie Gwanthney and shortly thereafter, Carrie died at the age of 17. Tom then met and fell in love with my great-grandmother, Cecil O'Banion. She left Arkansas and moved to Cleveland and Tom followed her there. He married Cecil O'Banion on May 9, 1921 and they had five children: Frances Eleanor Daly Lockwood Reinhardt (born exactly 9 months after their marriage), Doris "Amy" Daly Lewis, Freida Teri Daly Crocker Chevers, Tom Edward, Jr. and Nita Mae Daly Munnings. In addition to their five children, they had several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom was my maternal great-grandfather.
