Curt graduated from Waukesha High School in 1951 and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Agricultural Short Course. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1956 to 1958. Curt was the owner of the Manke Insurance Agency from 1973 to 2006 and also served as director and secretary of Waukesha County Mutual from 1973 until present. He was a member and past president of the Waukesha Sunrise Rotary Club, with 40 years of perfect attendance. Curt served on the Waukesha County Board of Supervisors from 1986 to 1992 and was the county board chairman from 1991 to 1992. He was a member and president of the Waukesha County Fair, past chairman of the Republican Party of Waukesha County and the president of the Wisconsin Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. Curt was active with the Meals On Wheels program, the Wallstreet Farmers and held the title of 2006 Honorary Fair Marshal. He was also proud to be an elder and longtime member at First Presbyterian Church.
Curt will be sadly missed by his wife, Gladys; his sons, Charles (Michele) of Merton and Curt "Andy" (Rebecca) of Waukesha; his grandchildren, Tanya, Jared and Trevor; his brother, Richard "Dick" (Donna) Manke of Pewaukee; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Tyler Justin.
