Son: Jens Jacob Christensen Lee of Minnesota
Funeral services were held in the ward chapel Tuesday afternoon over the remains of Anne Marie Jacobson Lee, who died Thursday after a lingering illness.
Services were conducted by Bishop J.L. Staples. The ward choir, under the direction of Prof. J.D. Montague sang, "Resting Now from Care and Sorrow", "Consolation", and "Rest For The Weary". Mrs. Woodruff Sylvester and Mrs. Leon Madsen sang a duet, "Sometime Somewhere".
J.I. Jensen gave a sketch of the life of the departed and spoke with praise of the noble character she possessed. The other speakers were S. Sorenson and Bishop J.L. Staples. Each gave words of consolation to the aged husband and children, also spoke highly of the departed one.
Counselor H.J. Kotter offered the opening prayer and Counselor J.A. Bateman the closing, dedicating the grave.
The floral offerings were many and beautiful which spoke of the high esteem in which she was held.
Anne Marie Jacobson Lee was born at Derbyshy, Denmark, January 25, 1839. She was married to Niels C. Lee April 30, 1861. They came to Albert Lee, Minnesota, in 1869. In the winter of 1874 they joined the Mormon church and leaving Minnesota came to Elsinore in 1875, where they have made their home since then. Mrs. Lee was the mother of nine children, seven of whom are left to survive her. Besides her husband, she leaves the following children: James J., of Albert Lea, Minn., Christian P., of Alberta, Canada, Christie of Milford, Hannah Hirschie, Emma Nielson, Dora Ross of Alberta, Canada, and Matilda Jensen of Richfield, also 52 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. The departed one had reached an age of 81 years, and a peculiar coincidence, leaves 81 direct descendants.
