My great-grandfather, Benjamin Franklin "Ben" Meador was the 3rd of 10 children born to Eliza Jane (Scott) & John Griggs Meador.

Ben & Mary M. (Pattison) married February 12, 1880 in Navarro County, Texas & had 3 children:

William Robert "Bill or Willie" Meador
Minnie Eula (Meador) Allen Ray
Laura Emma (Meador) Ray

After Mary died, Ben and Jo Ann (Avara) (1870 - 1910) married and had 3 children:

John Douglas Meador
Nora B. (Meador) Rich
Clay Johnson Meador

The cause of death listed on his death certificate was "Flu" pneumonia.

Well Known Farmer Dead.


Ben F. Meadow, well known farmer of the Emhouse community, aged 74, and for many years a resident of this county, died at his home last night, and the remains were interred in the Pattison cemetery this afternoon.

The deceased is survived by five grown children, Will Meadow, of Oklahoma, Mrs. B. Ray, Douglas Meadow, Clay Meadow and Miss Nora Meadow, all of Emhouse.
