In early life he united with the M. E. church. His religion was a practical one entering into every detail of life. He had a way of looking on the bright side of life which was an inspiration and up lift to all whom he met and many times in the last years of his life since health failed. Almost to the hour of death he was heard to say he was ready and only waiting to be called home.
The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Gordon, of Huntsville, and was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends. Interment in Johnson cemetery.
