The death of James Stephenson occurred at his home on East Buckeye street, Belle Center, Thursday morning at two-fifteen o'clock. He has been confined to his bed with paralysis for over three years.

Mr. Stephenson was before his illness one of the prominent business men of Belle Center. He owned a livery business for many years and later, operated a restaurant in the location of the Cline Restaurant for some time.

He was born Dec. 1, 1863, near Huntsville, the son of David and Elizabeth Stephenson. In 1886 he was married to Miss McElree who survives him.

The deceased was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Belle Center. He was highly respected by all his acquaintances.

There are surviving with the widow, these children: Chester I. Stephenson, Belle Center; Mrs. Vivian Kerns, Kenton; Foster Stephenson, Cleveland; Mrs. Pauline Borden, Mt. Victory; Mrs. Ruth Curran, Granite City, Illinois; Lester Stephenson, at home; Earl Stephenson, Cleveland; and Miss Marie Stephenson, of the home. The oldest daughter, Mrs. Minnie Porter, preceded her father in death.

Three brothers and a sister are also living: Leonard and Arch Stephenson, Degraff; Charles Stephenson, Huntsville and Mrs. Monta Tudor, Indianapolis, Indiana. Another sister, Mrs. Anna Johnson, is deceased.

Funeral services will be held from the home Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, with the Rev. J. R. Lloyd in charge. He will be assisted by Rev. W. H. Nungester.
