William G. "Gary" Arnold, 61, of Detroit, Mich., died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, in Detroit.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Marshall, with Rev. I.B.S. Groves officiating. Burial will be held in Salisbury City Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Marshall.

He was born Sept. 29, 1946, in Yates, the son of the late William and Margaret Arnold. He was united in marriage Feb. 14, 1977, to Belinda Cargile, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Powell and Gary Arnold; five stepdaughters, Q'kwanam and Makeba Cargile and Monique, La Sonia and Benita Erving; one stepson, Terrence Cargile; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Robert Arnold of Columbia; and one sister, Betty Hayes of Marshall.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
