Capt. Abner H. West of Rumson died Saturday in his 82d year. He was stricken with paralysis Sunday, August 24th. For thirty years Mr. West was in charge of a life saving station at Seabright and for the past fifteen years he had led a retired life. He was a member of the Seabright Methodist church and was one of the founders of that church.
He is survived by his wife, who was Clementine Warner of North Long Branch. He also leaves three daughters and a son. They are Mrs. J. F. Lane of New York, who is now on a trip to Paris; Mrs. W. F. Jeffrey of New York, Mrs. H. L. Zobel of Red Bank and Carroll B. West of Red Bank.
The funeral was held yesterday at the house and burial was at Long Branch.
