Mrs. John Campbell died Friday,May 16, 1919 at Princeton, Kansas at the age of 90 years 7 months and 17 days. Mary Mitchell was born in Indiana County Pennsylvania September 27, 1828. On April 10th 1851 she was married to John Campbell in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.To this union were born six children, all of whom,together with her aged husband survive her. The children are: Mary B. Dickey, Tomahawk,Wis.;Nancy R. McMains, Topeka; W.J. Campbell, Ontario, Calif.;Jane E. Miller, Alberta, Canada; Nevada Casebeer, Topeka;Ruth E. McFarlin, Princeton. She also leaves 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Mrs Campbell had been a member of the Presbyterian Church since girlhood until she went to Princeton where she united with the M.E. Church. During the15 years of residence in Axtell Grandma Campbell, as she was lovingly called by everyone, endeared herself to those about her and for all she had a kind and loving word. Her cheerful disposition and gentle manner won her a place in many hearts. In her home she was the ever faithful wife and thoughtful mother. During her last illness of about four months, she was confined to her bed most of the time, but she was always patient,, fully appreciating the tender care given her by her daughter Mrs. McFarlin at whose home she spent her last days. Funeral services were held at the latter city and the interment was made in the Princeton Cemetery.
