Her father died when she was just a toddler and her mother Alice (Rainbolt) Heath remarried. Annie was raised by her mother and stepfather Cincinnatus Marion Zinn. Her mother Alice had three additional children with Cincinnatus Zinn, two boys and a girl who became half-siblings to Alice (Heath) Garrett.
Annie Olive Heath married 29 Oct 1899 Benjamin Joseph Garrett, the son of James Joseph Garrett and Grace Hannah Berry. Benjamin died 27 June 1958 in Dallas, from colon cancer. At the time of his death he and Annie were living at 608 N. Edgefield, Dallas, TX. In the 1930's Benjamin Joseph Garrett was working as a real estate agent in Dallas.
