Patrolman Hogg was shot and killed by a triple murder suspect. The suspect was convicted of Patrolman Hogg murder and sentenced to life in prison on August 18, 1972. Patrolman Hogg had served with the Texas Highway Patrol for three years and was stationed in Nixon.
