Courtney - Died, at 11:30am Friday, Aug. 28, 1903, at the family residence, 922 South Spring street, John Courtney, aged 67 years 5 months and 26 days. The time of the funeral will be announced later. Mr Courtney has been ill a long time and his death was not unexpected. He had been a resident of Springfield thirty-nine years, coming here from the state of Maine in 1864. He was a veteran of the civil war and served in the Seventeenth Maine infantry. Mr. Courtney is sirvived by his widow and three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Isaac Woodell of Sherman, Catherine, Sadie, John and Harry Courtney, residing at home.
