Navy Cryptologic Technician Third Class Petty Officer O'Bryant was assigned to the Navy Information Operations Command Maryland, Fort Meade, Maryland. He died in the bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan. The massive bomb blast set a raging fire that lasted for hours and gutted most of the five story luxury hotel. Matthew graduated from Theodore High School in 2004 where he reached the rank of Colonel in the ROTC. After graduation, he attended the Art Institute of Atlanta from 2004 to 2006 before joining the U.S. Navy in 2007. He leaves behind his wife, Bridgett. Matthew was one of the nicest people you could hope to meet and loved to make people smile. After getting out of the military, he hoped to work as a movie producer or director. Matthew and his older brother liked to play soldier while growing up and their weapons of choice were sticks and rocks. Both brothers ended up overseas and their game of soldier became the real deal.
