NORTH SPRINGFIELD -- Charles W. Gordon Sr., 87, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 9, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 26, 1921 in Springfield, the son of Perley and Gladys (Jackson) Gordon.
Charles was married to Carolinia R. Clow on Nov. 8, 1952 in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife, Carolinia of 56 years; one son, Charles W. Gordon Jr. of White River Jct.; four daughters, Joanne Moulton of Grantham, Patricia Nastasia of Charlestown, Barbara Dwinell of Chester, and Sandra Harwood of Peru, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was predeceased by a daughter, Suzanne Gordon, one brother, Perley Gordon, and two sisters, Virginia Bundy and Jenny Gomez.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday evening, Sept. 11, at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday at the Davis Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kathleen Narowitz officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in North Springfield.
