He was born March 10, 1925, at Pittsburg, Ill., the son of James E. and Mary Elizabeth (Hyde) Fowler.
He was employed by General Motors in Flint, Mich., retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cardwell. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Navy and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War.
On Jan. 22, 1944, he married the former Miss Lawanda Weeks.
Surviving is his wife; sons, Robert F. Fowler Jr. and James Fowler; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Lynn) Robbins; a sister, Mrs. John (Katherine) Gimenez; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at the McMikle Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery near here.
