Funeral Services for Clyde "Sandy" Hanlin have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, August 13, 2007 at Central Church of the Nazarene in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pastor John Whitsett will officiate, assisted by Rev. Dave McKellips. Burial will follow at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.

Clyde "Sandy" Hanlin was born June 8, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of Clyde C. and Mary (Vickery) Hanlin. He died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 63 years of age.

Sandy was a 1962 graduate of Sperry, Oklahoma High School. He received his Bachelors in Industrial Arts and Physical Education and his Masters Degree in Health and Safety Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He married the former Miss Carole Anderson on January 18, 1969 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They moved to Broken Arrow in 1969 from Pittsburg, Texas. Sandy was the Boys and Girls Golf Coach for Union Public Schools and had for over 30 years taught 2500 plus young people to drive. He was instrumental with helping students make good choices on academics and assisting them with scholarship opportunities. His hobbies were golfing, keeping the stats for TU Basketball and Football, and gardening. He was past president of the Oklahoma Golf Coaches Association and was Tournament director for numerous tournaments. He was a member of Indian Springs Country Club and the Church of the Nazarene. Memorials may be made to the Central Church of the Nazarene Heart and Lung Research, 7291 E. 81st, Tulsa, OK 74133.
