Clara Elizabeth Babel, 98, died on Wednesday, March 15, 2000, in Seguin. She was born to Gus and Anna Jandt on Dec. 15, 1901, in Guadalupe County.

Mrs. Babel was preceded in death by her husband, Elthor, in 1951; a son, Robert Lee, in 1999; sons-in-law, Monroe Grimm, David Rauch; David Grimm and Marvin Erben; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Babel.

She is survived by her loving family, including daughters, Melva Grimm, Elva Rauch, Doris Grimm, Virginia Howard and her husband Dale and Wilma Erben; son, Elthor "Buddy" Babel; sisters, Ruby Springs and Margaret Junker; sister-in-law, Estella Jandt; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and other loving family members.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2000, at Goetz Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Peter Olsen officiating. Interment to follow at the Lone Oak Cemetery in Geronimo.
