Allen F. Cathey, Georgetown, Dies August 18
Allen Franklin Cathey, 62, died at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 1971 in Winnfield General. He was a native of Tioga and a resident of Georgetown.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Cathey of Georgetown; two daughters, Mrs. Ivie Davis of Georgetown and Mrs. Gerald Sevier of the Philippines; a son, Conrad L. Cathey of Many; a sister, Miss Viola Cathey of Alexandria; two brothers, Sidney Cathey of Tullos and W. F. Cathey of Winnfield; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Selma Baptist Church with Rev. V. H. Matthews, Rev. James Simon, and Rev. Freddie Dixon officiating. Pallbearers were Aaron Capps, Jimmy Amberg, Larry Amberg, Joe Barrett, Julius Barrett, and Jessie Keith.
