Cathey—At the Charity Hospital in Pineville, at 2 o’clock p.m., on Friday, December 20, 1940, Mrs. Mattie Cathey, age 55 years, 1 month and 4 days.
Deceased is survived by her husband, L. O. Cathey; one daughter, Miss Viola Cathey and three sons, S. D. Cathey, A. F. Cathey, and W. F. Cathey. She also leaves three grandchildren, Lillie Beth, Donald and Johnie Lou, all of whom reside near Georgetown, La.; her father, S. A. Hammons, of Pineville; two brothers, L. B. Hammons, of Kolin, and H. C. Hammons, of Pineville; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl DeVille, of Merryville, La.; Mrs. Irma McCann, of Pineville and Mrs. Velma King, of Kolin, and a large number of other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. Sherwood, her pastor.
