Notified that his little son, Charles Brainerd, who is in a sanitarium at Indianapolis, was not expected to live, Sheriff Ben H. Brainerd went to Indianapolis early yesterday morning, accompanied by Dr. Charles Compton. A telegram was received from the sheriff yesterday, stating that he will arrive home this morning with the boy.
A few months ago, while skating on roller skates, the little fellow fell. He told his parents that he had hurt himself but for the next few days he did not seem to suffer from the accident. Afterward his condition became worse and it developed that his spine was injured. The boy was taken to a specialist in Chicago, and upon his advice, the sufferer was taken to a sanitarium in Indianapolis where he has since been confined. His mother has been attending at his bedside.
