He attended Milford High School and resided in Greenfield for many years.
He worked as a machinist with various local machine shops.
He enjoyed motorcycling and boating.
Family members include his wife of 24 years, Marilyn (Nichols) Fay of Greenfield; a daughter, Kerry M. Fay of Concord; a stepson, Michael Vautier; two grandchildren; a sister, Jane Fay-Byrd of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother, Joseph Fay of Syracuse, N.Y.; a half-brother, Richard Gallant of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Saturday at 3 p.m. at 58 Old Manchester Road, Amherst.
