ASHTON - Rita R. Hoxie, 60, of Placentia, Calif., formerly of Ashton, died Sunday, Oct. 30, at her home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton. The Rev. Frederick Snyder will officiate.

Mrs. Hoxie was born March 14, 1934, at Ashton to Anton C. and Frances I. (Badura) Stobbe. She grew up on the family farm south of Ashton and attended school at District 5s 6 and 30 and graduated from AshtonHigh School. She attended St. Francis School of Nursing in Grand Island and later received herbachelor of science from Duchesne College of the Sacred Heart in Omaha. In 1956 she moved to Placentia, Calif., where she worked in nursing and continued her education, later becoming a hospital administrator. She worked in hospitals until illness forced her retirement several years ago.
Survivors include three brothers, Hubert "Kuba" Stobbe of Ashton, John Stobbe of Downey, Calif., and Roman Stobbe of Colorado Springs; three sisters, Ven Rapp and Vivian (Mrs. Bill) Smith, both of Southgate, Calif., and Betty (Mrs. Gene) Grudzinski of Ashton. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Clemence Stobbe.
