Civil War Union Army Veteran: Enlisted as a Private on 11 August 1862 at the age of 36. Enlisted in Company K, 28th Infantry Regiment Iowa on 3 Sep 1862. Promoted to Full 5th Corporal on 28 Mar 1863. Promoted to Full 1st Sergeant on 20 Jul 1863. Died of disease Company K, 28th Infantry Regiment Iowa on 27 Aug 1864 at Halltown, VA.


(Halltown, Jefferson County was considered a part of Virginia until 1865 when West Virginia became a state. So Christian actually died in what was Virginia)
