Elizabeth Stowe Hunt, who died yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Livesey, 115 North Broom St. was one of the oldest of Dane county residents. She came to Wisconsin in 1864 with her parents. She taught school for a number of years. Mrs. Hunt was born in Clinton county, New York, March 27, 1829 and was active up until about five months ago. She was the last of twelve children to survive. She was married to Joseph H. Hunt, Dec. 10, 1957. Five children came to brighten their home, four of which survive their mother. They are Mrs. J. W. Livesey of Madison, Arthur S. of Marinette, Orson E. of Tulsa, OK, and Orville of Burke. The other daughter, Mrs. Charles L. Whiting of Cottage Grove, died July 5, 1898, leaving four children. There are eleven other grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. Mr. Hunt died October 16, 1906. Since that time Mrs. Hunt had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Livesey. The deceased was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Sun Prairie. She was a member of the Woman's Relief Corps., which association will hold memorial services for her. The funeral will be held from the home, 115 N. Broom St. Saturday at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Webster Miller will officiate. The body will be placed in the vault and later will be laid to rest beside that of her husband in Burke. The grandsons will be pallbearers. Capital Times 3/1/1918
