Edward Benjamin Augenstein is the son of Charles W. (Karl Wilhelm) Augenstein and Mary A. (Maria Dewald) Dewalt. He was the fourth of eight children; five brothers and two sisters. On September 6, 1915, he was married by J. F. Kieffer, to Carrie W. Abbott in Castle Shannon, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

AUGENSTEIN--Of 3726 Poplar Ave., Castle Shannon, on Friday, Sept. 30, 1966, Edward B. Sr., beloved husband of Carrie Abbott Augenstein; father of Edward B. Jr., Elmer W. and Vernon A. Augenstein; brother of Charles E. Augenstein; Mrs. Amanda Gebhardt, Mrs. Betty Messner; also seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive. Friends received at the E. B. LAUGHLIN FUNERAL HOME, Castle Shannon where services will be held on Monday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. Visitations 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
