Kenneth W. Donle, 91, died Sept. 23, 2008, at Epsom Manor Nursing Center.

He was born September 3, 1917, in Cambridge, Mass., to Earl Raymond and Mabel (Kincaid) Donle. He was a graduate of University of New Hampshire in 1939.

After graduation, he moved to Elwood City, Pa., then Gary, Ind., working for U.S. Steel. In Ridgewood, N.J., he worked for Tube Reducing Company, and then went to Union Steel, from where he retired.

He was a resident of Chatham, N.J., prior to moving to Bedford in 1990.

IN HIS LIFE: He was a former member of the Rotary Club. He had volunteered for SCORE, was a member of Masonic Fraternity, and enjoyed playing golf and researching his genealogy. One of his proudest moments was scoring a hole-in-one while playing golf.

Following the death of his wife, he renewed his interest in the family farm in Parsonsfield, Maine, spending time refurbishing and restoring the farm.

He was predeceased by his wife of almost 50 years, Donna H. (Pratt) Donle, in 1989.

He is survived by his loving family, including his three children, Carol J. Sawyer, of Southampton, Mass., David W. Donle of Fort Worth, Texas, and Peter W. Donle of Parsonsfield, Maine; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Calling hours were held at Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., Manchester. A funeral service was held at the Brookside Congregational Church - Chapel, 2013 Elm Street, Manchester. Burial followed at Porter Village Cemetery, 1st County Road, Porter, Maine.
