Albert A. Beckwith 90, a retired Brackenridge Borough employe, died at 11 a.m. yesterday, (Aug. 11, 1961), at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Paul Rieger Jr., Bachman Rd., Fawn Twp. Mr. Beckwith had been ill a month. He suffered a stroke Aug. 6 and had been bedfast since. He resided on Burtner Rd., Fawn Twp. Retired at 82 when he was employed as a filterer in the water department. Mr. Beckwith was employed by the borough for 60 years. He also farmed the land surrounding his home. Mr. Beckwith was born Sept. 5, 1870 in West Monterey, Clarion Co., to John and Eliza Fair Beckwith. He moved to this area when he was a boy, residing here most of his life. His wife, Mrs. Ethel Foster Beckwith, died in 1927. In addition to Mrs. Rieger, he leaves another daughter, Mrs. Theodore (Mae) Ankrom of Washington Co.; a son, John F. of Natrona Heights; a stepson James Body, Tarentum; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be r3ceived after 7 p.m. today in Fever-Kyrnicki Funeral Home, 4th Ave. and Wood St., Tarentum, where the service will be at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Clifford Beull, pastor of Center Methodist Church, Fawn Twp., officiating. Burial will be in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
