Sergeant Bobby Eugene Sivley was born May 3, 1934, in Hamilton County, Tenn., the son of the late George and Carrie Bell Sivley. He lived in Chattanooga until 1994 when he moved to Rhea County. He served in the National Guard in Germany from 1956 to 1958. Sivley joined the Chattanooga Police Department in 1963. He was a motorcycle patrol officer and a communications officer before retiring with the rank of Sergeant in 1982. He was past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles #945. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathryn Reardon and Ann Crockett; brother, Charles Sivley; and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Sharlotte Sivley; two step-sons, Jack G. Durhan of Pikeville and James Durham of Chattanooga; daughter, Debra Rizzo of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Cody Lockhart and Carrie Lockhart; and a 30-year friend, James Rogers of Gatlinburg, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Carroll Henderson officiating. Burial will be Friday, Sept 26, 2008, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Coulter Garrison Funeral Home of Dayton is in charge of arrangements.
