Veteran of US Army∼Michael Len Newton, age 53, of Lewisville, Arkansas formerly of Hope, Arkansas passed away on Monday, September 8, 2008 in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. he was born on August 20, 1955 in Hope to Delbert Wayne and June Faris Newton. Mr. Newton was a forestry technician, a member of First Baptist Church of Hope, an Army veteran serving from 1972 to 1975 and was stationed in Germany. He was preceded in death by his father in 1995.
Survivors include: his wife of 28 years, Marla Smith Newton of Lewisville; two sons, Patrick Newton and Michael "Eli" Newton, both of Lewisville; one daughter, Jennifer Martinez & Mario of Lewisville; his mother, June Newton of Hope; two brothers, Christ Newton & Priscilla, and Kenny Newton & Donna, all of Springhill, AR; three grandchildren, Lorena Patterson of Fouke, AR, Mary Martinez and Melody Martinez, both of Lewisville; numerous family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 12, 2008 at First United Methodist Church, Lewisville with Rev. Donnie Holt officiating and burial in Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville.
