Elder Franz Albrecht, son of Henry and Helena (nee Penner) Albrecht, was born on Jan 10, 1876 in Lindenau, in Saratov, Russia.
In 1881, the family moved to Asia with many others. However, the family immigrated in 1884 and arrived in Beatrice, Nebraska on the 12th of September. Here they lived near the city in the country, from where the now in the community school received his education at home Recalled teachers JK Penner. By Christian education in the home, school, and church his spiritual life was awakened and 1874 he took part in the baptismal instruction and was on Pentecost Sunday of SENIOR CITIZEN. Gerhard Penner baptized and received into the church.
In 1897, the family moved to a farm 9 miles northwest of Beatrice, where he helped his parents with the farm work. Later, he felt the need for more religious instruction and attended from 1903 to 1905 Bethel College. In March 1903 he was elected preacher of the community and in June it from SENIOR CITIZEN. Gerhard Penner qualified. Asst. Pastor, Defenseless Mennonite Church in Beatrice, 1904 - 1920, Pastor 1920 - 1940th After the death of his father in 1908 he took over the farm and parents on November 5, 1908 he married Marie Wiebe, daughter of Pred. Herman Wiebe and they lived with the mother together and cultivated them in love to at the end in 1926. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters. In 1920, Retrieved from the community was elected elders and in April 1920 by SENIOR CITIZEN. Gerhard Penner qualified. He has tried its best efforts to serve the community in all its branches. The service to the community was to him the head of them, and he has sought to provide this service with loyalty. He served sixteen years as a minister and 20 years as an elder. 4 years ago he was diagnosed with a heart condition and therefore had to resign from the church work. Since then, he had often difficult hours and days when it was easier, until the Lord called him home on December 21, 1944 in peace at the age of 68 J. 11 sts and 11 days. He is survived by his wife Daring, 3 daughters, 1 brother, 1 sister, and many friends. During the long days of his illness, he has many scriptures and songs recalls.
