Published obituary
Margaret France, daughter of Thomas and Alice France was born May 11, 1859, on the Atlantic Ocean as her parents were making the Voyage from England to America. She was baptized at the age of 12 years at Kewanee, Illinois and has lived true to her covenant during a long and useful life.

She was married on Thanksgiving Day 1878 to James Baguley. To this union was born six children: five daughters and one son. The family moved to Lamoni, Iowa, about 1882. In 1892 the dread disease diphtheria took four of the five daughters and a few years later the husband and little son were taken from her. She and her daughter continued to live in this vicinity for more than forty years.

With courage and cheerfulness, she took up the burden of supporting herself and raising and educating the little daughter left to her. For many years she was one of Lamoni's principal dressmakers and was always cheerful and willing to do her utmost to please those she served. In 1906 she was married to A M Turnbull of Sagle, Idaho, who passed away in 1917.

On August 30, 1925 she married Elder John T Ford and moved with him to Hamilton, Missouri, where they established their home and lived together happily until November 25, 1945, when she passed peacefully away.

She leaves to mourn her loss her devoted husband, one daughter, Mrs H H Vanderflute of Beaconsfield, Iowa; one brother, Charles France of Lamoni, Iowa; two granddaughters, Mrs Gale Hoffman, of Shannon City, Iowa; Margaret J Vanderflute of Chicago, Illinois; and one great-grandson.

[She leaves] also her husband's children, Oscar Ford, Hamilton, Missouri, Mrs Lillie Olsen, Hamilton, Missouri, Mrs May Dodson, Denver, Colorado, Mrs Lula Sackett, Hamilton, Missouri, Carl Ford, Hamilton, Missouri, Mrs Faye Ammons, of Nampa, Idaho; and their children and grandchildren who have always loved her as a mother and grandmother and to whom she has been devoted.

All of the children except Mrs Ammons were in attendance at the funeral. She leaves many nieces and nephews and a host of friends both in Hamilton and in Lamoni who will miss her and mourn her passing.

Funeral Services were held in Hamilton. Missouri, at 2:00 pm, November 27, 1945, at the Hamilton funeral home and in Lamoni, Iowa on November 28 at the Marsh Funeral Chapel at 3:00 pm. Elder Anderson of Independence, Missouri, officiated at both services assisted in Lamoni by Elder Charles Ballantyne.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were her husband, J T Ford, Mr and Mrs Oscar Ford, Mr and Mrs Carl Ford, Mr and Mrs Arthur Sackett, Mrs Lillie Olsen, all of Hamilton, Missouri, Mr and Mrs Vern Dodson and Mrs Gall Thomas of Denver Colorado, Mr and Mrs H H Vanderflute of Beaconsfield, Iowa, Mr and Mrs Gale Hoffman of Shannon City, Iowa, Miss Margaret J Vanderflute of Chicago, Illinois, Mr and Mrs S A Burgess and daughter Eveline of Independence, Missouri, Elder A M Chase of Independence, Missouri, Mrs Patricia Joe (sic) Fell and son David of Independence, Missouri, and Mr and Mrs Bryan Stanley of Bethany, Missouri.
