Roland grew up in the French Hill neighborhood of Nashua and attended the former St. Francis Xavier Parochial School. He later made his home in Merrimack for several years before recently moving back to Nashua.
Mr. Seyer had been employed as a mechanic at Brown Products for 38 years.
He also worked for Allied Security in Manchester for ten years and later worked part-time as a driver for Pine Motor Parts, Inc. for four years until his retirement.
A talented musician, Roland founded Seyer Brothers Orchestra and played the Alto Saxophone with his brother Robert playing Tenor Saxophone. The Seyer Brothers performed at many weddings and parties in the Nashua area for 25 years.
Mr. Seyer was a communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church in Nashua and had served with the New Hampshire National Guard during the 1950's.
Members of his family include his wife of 22 years, Joyce S. (Russell) Seyer of Nashua; four children, Elizabeth 'Libby' MacDonald and her husband Joseph of Nashua, Tracy Bohaker of Hendersonville, Tenn., Sandra Allard and her husband Timothy of Milford and April Bohaker of Nashua; two grandchildren, Kelly West and her husband Josh of Warren, PA and Kimberly MacDonald of Nashua; two sisters, Irene Arsenault and Rolande and Gerry Jalbert, all of Merrimack; nieces and nephews, Cathy Jalbert of Nashua, Thomas Jalbert of Hillsboro, Jerry Jalbert of Merrimack, Lucien Arsenault of Dover, Theresa Cunningham of Rochester and Priscilla Chaires of Nashua; and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, Roland was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert E. Seyer and Rita E. (Laflamme) Seyer; and a brother-in-law, Joseph L. Arsenault.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, on Friday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 West Hollis Street, Nashua, Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church.
