FUNERAL MONDAY FOR JOHN P. SASSER, 58
Funeral services for Mr. John P. Sasser, 58 years old,
who died at 5 o'clock Friday at the Lawean General Hospital in Madison, Tenn, were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at Blackwater with the Rev. J.C. Baird officiating.
Interment was in the Pilgrims Rest cemetery at Blackwater by the House Funeral Home.
A native of Knox County, Mr. Sasser was born Aug. 14, 1887, the son of William and Louise Sasser.
Retired from the U.S. Army, Mr. Sasser was superintendent of the National Cemetery in Madison.
He served in the Philippine insurrection, with the American Expeditionary Army forces in 1914 and with the Occupational Army in Germany in World War I.
He retired from the army in 1932.
Mr. Sasser was married Feb. 22, 1915 to Miss Nannie Hale at Blackwater, who survives him.
He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Nannie Steward, London Route 1 and one brother J.M. Sasser, Tulelake, CA.
