Services for Waine Allen, who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair,
November 28, 1994 will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 1 at St. Mary's Episcopal
Church. Military graveside Services will be held at the Blair Cemetery.
J. Waine Allen was born August 14, 1916 in, Walthill, Nebraska to
James and Mary Jane McClain Allen. He attended Walthill High School graduating in 1936.
On December 8, 1936 he married Agnes Hineline, at Pender, Nebraska.
He entered the Army in January 1945 and served until 1947. He worked for 31 years for Nebraska-Iowa Supply as parts salesman.
He joined the Blair Volunteer Fire Department in 1944 and was a charter
member of the Blair Rescue Squad and was an active member until his death. He served as secretary-treasurer from 1967-1970, second captain in 1973, first assistant captain in 1974,. and captain in 1975. He
was one of twelve to complete the EMT-D training in 1986. For many years he served as Santa's Helper during the Christmas, season.
He served on the Blair City Council from 1970-1975. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Blair American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Blair Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Allen and Emmett Allen and two sisters, Mabel Kramer and Merna Saltzman.
Surviving him in death are his wife, Agnes, son, Herman Allen, son and.
daughter-in-law, Richard and Joan Hineline, all of Blair; grandchildren, Amy Allen,
Abby Allen, Ann Marie Allen, Penny Johnson, Patty Hineline and Rick Hineline; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Edie Johnson, Brian Johnson and Jennifer Johnson and one sister, Nettie Nottleman of Blair.
Interment will be in Blair Cemetery.
