Mrs. Robert I Alvey - Mrs. Bess Alvey, 66, of 4220 Frederica St., died early Sunday (12/10/1972) at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born Oct. 19, 1906 in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of the late J U and Virgie Blandford. She was retired from General Electric in 1940. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Altar Society and our Lady of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband Robert I Alvey of 4220 Frederica ST.; one daughter Mrs. Elizabeth A Schmitt of Louisville; three brothers, Joseph Medley and J U Medley, both of Owensboro, Shulman Medley of Orlando, FL; three sisters, Mrs. P L Doyle of Indianapolis, IN, Mrs. James Wiles of Ft. Worth, TX and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10am Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church conducted by Rev. Victor C Boarman, pastor. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call at the James H Davis Funeral Home after 5pm. Prayers will be at 730pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
