Mrs. Mary L "Lou" Alvey, 70, of Lee Manor Apartments, Owensboro died Monday Aug. 6, 1984 at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Daviess County, and a retired schoolteacher from Our Lady of Lourdes School; and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral Army of Mary and Legion of Mary. Survivors include five sons, Kenneth and Perry Alvey, both of Owensboro, Dr. Douglas Alvey of Franklin, William L Alvey of Levittown, NY and Gene Alvey of Austin, Texas, eight grandchildren, two brothers Eugene Weaver of Owensboro and Leo Weaver of Evansville, IN; and two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Zeha) Clements of Owensboro and Mrs. Floyd (Loretta) Montgomery at Chrisney, IN. Services are at 1pm Thurday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation after 1pm today at Glenn Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 7pm Wednesday.
