Ramona Ruth Christofferson, 80, Monona, Iowa, died Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Northgate Care Center, Waukon, Iowa, following a brief illness. Ramona was born on June 7, 1928, on the family farm south of Monona, to Linford and Thelma (Henderson) Bentien. She attended Pleasant Hill Country School, south of Monona.

She was united in marriage to Gaylord Stevenson on June 12, 1946, at Monona. One daughter was born to this union. She was united in marriage to Leo Christofferson on December 11, 1952, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Three children were born to this union. Ramona enjoyed cooking, making quilts, putting puzzles together and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ramona was a member of the Living Faith United Methodist Parish in Monona for several years.

Survivors include her four children, Linda (Eldon) Kurth, Monona, William "Bill" (Joyce Moore) Christofferson, Postville, Melon Horns (Fiance, Joe Hogan), Harpers Ferry, Tim (Linda Peters) Christofferson, Monona; grandchildren, Kathy (Ivy) Williams, Amy (Randy) Henry, Jill Christofferson, Wade Christofferson, Matthew (Stephanie) Horns, Mike Horns, Sarah Christofferson, Seth (Michele) Christofferson, Shaun Christofferson and Stacy Christofferson; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Keefe Williams, Spencer Horns, Katelyn, Brandon and Hunter Christofferson; one brother, Harlan (Imogene) Bentien, Monona; one brother-in-law, Charles Benesh, Mt. Hope, AR, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo, on September 11, 2006; two sisters, Betty Funk and JoAnn Benesh and her son-in-law, Myron Horns.
