MERRIMACK -- Matt Felton, 21, died Sept. 28, 2008, in Stockton Springs, Maine, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born in Waltham, Mass., Feb. 27, 1987, to Steven and Carol (Newton) Felton of Merrimack.

He lived most of his life in Merrimack. He played Merrimack Cardinal football for six years, and then continued at Merrimack High School, where he graduated in 2005.

He was a 3rd class midshipmen at Maine Maritime Academy, where he studied marine engineering. He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve Officers Program, where he would have obtained the rank of ensign.

In addition to his parents, the family includes sister Michelle Felton; paternal grandparents Ken and Marie Felton; maternal grandfather Bernard Newton; uncles Paul Felton and Harold Newton; and cousins.

SERVICES: Calling hours in the George R. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.

A funeral in the First Church of Nashua, 1 Lock St., is Thursday at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack.

Memorial donations may be made to the Merrimack Cardinals Football, c/o MYA, P.O. Box 153, Merrimack 03054.
