(Written for the local newspaper by her sister, Rae Nase, Lakeview, Texas)

My precious sister, Annie Nase, passed away on the night of August 27, 1945. She was 75 years old on February 9, 1945. She joined the Primitive Baptist church in Wise County, Texas in 1890, and was baptized by Bro. B.L. Thorneberry.

She leaves one brother and two sisters and two nieces and two nephews, her parents, one brother and one sister preceding her to rest.

Our hearts were so broken to know we would never see her lovely face again on earth, or hear her dear sweet voice again. But thank God, her soul has bone to God who made it, and her little body is resting and free from all pain, and we would not call her back. Every one who knew sweet Annie feels sure her loving spirit is dwelling in peace with Jesus and his white robed ones, who are coming with him some sweet day to gather those of his who are living, and the graves will give up their sleeping dust to be immortalized for each one's spirit (so pure in heaven now), to reinhabit. I sometimes think I would like to be here then, (if the time would be soon) for such joy could not be excelled. I believe I have tasted of such joy once in life when awake, and twice in dreams.

Annie and I lived alone, and I am so grieved and lonely. I have never known any one I thought as good as Annie, always patient and gentle, and lovely to look at. She was an artist with God given talent, never had a lesson in art. Our home is full of her paintings; most scenes original, eminating from a pure soul and an elevated mind. I know she was, and is God's own, as were also my parents, and my brother whom I never saw, having died 55 years ago, a year before I was born. He wwas 18 and my sweet little sister who was so pretty and suffered so much, who died 11 years ago; she was eight years older than I.

I am sending a few lines I composed the other night. You may not deem it poetry, but it is my tirbute to my loved ones.

TRIBUTE TO MY LOVED ONES
I see my darling parents' souls
Rest in a bower,
Of lovely roses, white and pink
And every other flower

Tommie and Onie's hovering near.
Heaven's hosts are singing
All my darlings' souls rejoice
For Annie's soul comes winging

Straight to brighten heaven's glory world.
And to those spirits sweet.
To dwell forever with the saints
And there dear Jesus greet.

In lovely robes I see them all
Bright Shining as the sun,
Oh darling ones, I long for you
I wish my race was run.
