Murphys resident Myrt L. Peterson died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, in San Andreas. She was 81.
A native of Grand Island, Neb., Mrs. Peterson was born May 25, 1927. She married the love of her life, Dean H. Peterson, Sept. 9, 1945, and now they are joined together for eternity. In 1990, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson moved to Murphys, where they fell in love with Calaveras County. Mrs. Peterson's passions included sewing, collecting rocks wherever their journeys took them and gardening, and you could always find her crocheting something. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she will be missed dearly.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by children Linda Spencer, Patricia Meagher, Susan Aguilar, William Peterson and Jeanie Hannibal; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean H. Peterson.
Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of which her husband was a part, The Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
