Her father was Appleton Harry Day and her mother, Sarah Jane (Cookston) Day.

She married Cortez Brown 21 April 1888 Kingston, Caldwell County, Missouri.

In 1902 Cortez went to Lincoln County, WA. He liked what he saw and returned to Missouri and on the 3 February 1903 moved his family to Harrington, WA. This was their home until 1929. Here they raised 9 children.

In 1909 she and Cortez became members of the Harrington Presbyterian Church.

She had been very ill 8 months prior to her death.
