Henry, his father Henry Hose, one brother and one sister emigrated from Germany to the U. S. in 1884. They went to Iowa.

He married Emmaline "Emma" Clarabelle Hoover 1 December 1887 in Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa.

He came with family in 1900 and homesteaded on a farm 28 miles northwest of Ritzville, 5 miles south of Marlin (Krupp) at the time). "He remained there until he proved up on his land and then moved to Alberta, Canada where he took up a provincial homestead of 320 acres and engaged in the dairy business for three years. From Canada he returned to the US locating 8 miles west of his old homestead near Marlin where he leased land and again engaged in farming. In the fall of 1917 he moved to Bonners Ferry, ID, and from there came to Harrington in the spring of 1919 entering the employ of the Harrington Manufacturing Co. He later engaged in the garage business along with his son, W. B. Hose, and worked here for a time until his health began failing." From the Harrington Citizen Newspaper, March 1932.

1900 United States Federal Census, Ritzville, Adams Co., WA. At this time they had 4 children:
Pearl Hose born June 1888 Iowa
Edward Hose born November 1889 Iowa
Albert Henry Hose born August 1893 Iowa.
William Hose born November 1894 Iowa
Living with them was his widowed father, Henry Hose born October 1827 Germany. He emigrated to the U. S. in 1884.

He passed away in his Harrington home from a duodenal ulcer and hemorrhage. He had been ill for several months and severely ill the last 15 days.

His funeral was held in the Harrington Community Congregational Church. He was "highly respected, was a straight forward, sincere citizen, made friends wherever located, which attested by the large crowd attending the services." From the Harrington Citizen Newspaper,-March 1932.

His children were:
