Funeral services for Mr. Holden, age 89, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 1997, in the United Pentecostal Church in Glenmora with Rev. James E. Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Butter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Mr. Holden died on Tuesday, August 26, 1997, in Oakdale Community Hospital.

He was a native of Turkey Creek and resident of Longleaf. Also, he was a member of the Carpenter's local 403 and a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Visitation will be held in the First United Pentecostal Church beginning on Wednesday, August 27, 1997, at 2 p.m. until midnight and again from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hawkins Holden and Hattie Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eva Miley Holden of Longleaf; four sons, Mr. E.J. Holden of Pollock, Mr. Aubrey Holden of McNary, Mr. Arthur Holden of Glenmora, Mr. Douglas Holden of Glenmora; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Chamberlain of Oakdale, Mrs. Betty Hampton of Longleaf, Mrs. Rhonda Sartin of Pineville; one brother, Mr. Cecil Oates of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Lois Howard of The Woodlands, Texas; Mrs. Linnie Smith of DeQuincey, Louisiana; and Mrs. Bertha Prather of Lake Charles, Louisiana; 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
