Wealthy Turkish businessman, Esat Edin, and his children, Mete Cem (12), Serra Şirin (10) and Aliye Asri (7) , were killed in a flash flood while camping at the base of Kaz Mountain in the northwestern province of Balikesir.
The Edin family had been camping at an established camping site at the base of the mountain when the flood hit. Eye-witnesses say the area had not experienced heavy rain fall. Esat Edin is the founder, CEO and largest shareholder of Kemer Group, an Istanbul-based real estate development company.
They had lost their mother Mehpare Edin to cancer in March of this year.
