Janice was born to Ann and Stanley Kujawa in Spring Valley, IL on Aug 3rd, 1952. Janice graduated from Peoria High School in 1970 and from Bradley University in Peoria, IL in 1974 where she received a degree in Geology. Janice met Bryan Hawes at Bradley and the two were married in Oct of 1974. Janice and Bryan moved to California in 1976 and settled in Rancho Cucamonga in 1989. Janice gave birth to twins Michael and Stephanie in Oct of 1987 and began working for the City of San Dimas in 1989. After nineteen years in the Finance Department, cancer forced Janice to reluctantly retire from the City in March of 2008. Janice was an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts, the Etiwanda High School Marching Band, and the Etiwanda Historical Society. Janice enjoyed sewing and crafts and always looked forward to traveling, camping and fishing with her family. Janice fought a courageous battle against the cancer for over a year and half, and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Janice is survived by her husband, Bryan, her two children, Michael and Stephanie, and her brothers Stanley, John, & Roger Kujawa. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Ann, and by her sister Marian. Graveside Services were held on Sept. 29, 2008 at the Montecito Memorial Park in Colton, CA.
