Gerald Wayne Highlander was born May 25, 1950 in Cynthiana, KY, the son of the late Andrew Charles Highlander and Maggie Ramsey Highlander of Rushville. He volunteered and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and is a life member of the VFW and the AMVETS. He has been employed for the last year with J & J Packaging and has been an over the road truck driver for many years and was also a truck driver for Containercraft. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, playing cards and softball. He is survived by two daughters, Brandy & Robert Drew, Connersville and Wendy Highlander, Connersville; a brother Andrew Charles Highlander, Rushville; eight grandchildren, Brandon Allen, Kasey Allen, Zachary Allen, Jeremiah Friend, Cody Friend, Megan Drew, Bryce Drew, and Brock Drew; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by an Uncle Alva Ramsey.
