A lifetime resident of the Punxsutawney and Big Run areas, Arthur R. Bowers, Sr. of R.D. 4 Punx'y passed away yesterday at the home of his daughter. Mr. Bowers was the son of William M. Bowers & Emmaline Fulton and was born in Hillsdale on 1 April 1911 [sic-August 1912].
A veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict, Mr. Bowers was a retired career man in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Yohe Bowers;
one daughter, Mrs. Russel (Dolores) Adams of Hamilton;
three sons:
Michael and Arthur Bowers Jr, both of Lockport, New York;
and William Bowers of Stump Creek.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
Interment in McClure Cemetery in Big Run.
