FARMERSVILLE - Johnny Ray Cox, 84, of Farmersville died Friday. A graveside service is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Cemetery in Copeville. Rev. Bart Barber and Rev. Russell Moore will officiate at the service.
Born Aug. 15, 1916 in Nevada, he was the son of Joseph Arthur and May Philpott Cox. He married Estelle Laverne Oliver on June 9, 1934 in Copeville.
Mr. Cox served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a minister and was a member of First Baptist Church in Farmersville.
Surviving are his wife of Farmersville; a daughter, Connie Adams of Farmersville; two sons, Jerry Cox of Princeton and Donald Cox of Clarksville; brother Edgar Cox of Garland; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home of Farmersville.
