Buryl Franklin Evans(Uncle Ted to me)Was born 21 Aug.1908,Clay City,Ill.,died 05 Sep.1980,in Temple City,Ca...was in the Army at 17 and was discharged in 1939.After Pearl Harbor he joined the Navy,he was on a ship that was hit by a torpedo,he was one of very few who servied,he was in the water 15 hours before he and his crew mates were saved.He lost the sight of his Right eye,and gun powder inbedded in his forehead for the rest of his life.Like all of the servicemen,he was a hero.
